Meet Me, Stephanie Sabourin
If you’re considering working with me, you’re likely looking for more than just a photographer — you’re looking for someone you can trust to create images that feel honest, meaningful, and deeply personal.
I’m Stephanie Sabourin, a portrait photographer based in Columbia, Maryland, specializing in family, individual, and pet photography. I work primarily from my home studio, as well as on location, creating a relaxed and unhurried environment where people — and animals — can simply be themselves.
My approach is calm, patient, and thoughtful. Clients often tell me they feel at ease during their session, even if they normally feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. This is especially true when working with children and pets, where my quiet presence and gentle direction help bring out natural expressions and genuine connection.
Outside of photography, I’m a lifelong lover of nature, a strong advocate for animals, and a deeply family-oriented person. I bring that same care and attentiveness into every session. I’m known for my warm demeanor, my expressive hands, and yes — a slightly crooked smile inherited from my father. While I may not have perfectly manicured nails, I take great pride in the care, precision, and artistry behind every image I create.
As an introvert, I connect deeply and intentionally with the people I photograph. I value trust, integrity, and craftsmanship, and I’m selective about the work I take on so that every client receives my full attention.
I am a fully insured professional photographer and an active member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Maryland Professional Photographers Association. I hold both a Master of Photography degree and a Master Artist degree, and my work has been recognized at the state, national, and international levels.
My images have received Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards through professional photographic competitions and have been featured in respected journals and publications. I continue to pursue education and competition not for accolades alone, but because constant learning strengthens the work I create for my clients.
If you value refined artistry, a calm experience, and portraits created with intention, I would love to explore how we might work together.
